JACKSON, Mo. -- Vern Albert Heimbach, 69, of Jackson died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 17, 1931, in Jackson, son of Vernon L. and Leona Fatchett Heimbach. He and Gail Hodge were married Dec. 18, 1986.
Heimbach was a graduate of Jackson High School. He worked at the former Wayne Hosiery Mill in Jackson, the former Marquette Cement Plant in Cape Girardeau, the former Jackson Excavating, and retired in 1989 from West Lake Quarry. He was a marshal at Bent Creek Golf Course.
He served with Missouri National Guard 30 years, and traveled to Panama and Honduras.
Heimbach was a member of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Jackson, Elks Lodge 639 in Cape Girardeau, and former member of Teamsters Local 574.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David Heimbach of Moscow Mills, Mo.; a stepson, Charles Hodge of Cape Girardeau; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Revs. Raymond V. Epps and Thomas Bray will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
