BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral service for Verlin Charles Sheldon of Bloomfield will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Jack Crawford and Robert Gardner will officiate, with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
Sheldon, 73 years old, died Wednesday, April 3, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Sept. 10, 1917, at Swinton, son of Fred and Nora Goodman Sheldon. He and the former Juanita Mann were married Aug. 22, 1936.
Sheldon was a retired mechanic. He was a member of Lakeville Lodge 489 AF&AM, and was affiliated with Bible Tabernacle Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Paul Thompson of Bloomfield; a brother, Joe Sheldon of Dexter; a sister, Kathleen Cooper of Bloomfield; two grandsons, and three great-grandchildren.
