PULASKI, Ill. -- Verl Dean Bolen, 74, of Pulaski, formerly of rural Cairo, died Saturday, April 8, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 16, 1921, in Johnston City, son of M. Claude and Delcie H. Bolen. He married Lena Butler.
Bolen was a member of the Pulaski Christian Church and was a retired distributor with the Nabisco Co. in Cairo. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe.
Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Judy Thurston of Pulaski; one son, Barry Bolen of Choctaw, Okla.; one brother, Vernon Bolen of Centralia; three sisters, Freda Ice of Union City, Tenn., and Wela Reeves and Helen Johnson, both of Mounds; and four grandsons.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge and from 8:30 a.m. Tuesday until the funeral at Pulaski Christian Church.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church with William Winters officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors by VFW Post 8891 in Mounds.
