Verda M. Schnurbusch, 90, of Old Appleton died Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville, Missouri.
She was born March 18, 1928, in St. Louis, daughter of Oscar and Clara Triller Weisbrod. She and Ruben "Rip" Schnurbusch married Oct. 23, 1948. He preceded her in death Aug. 13, 2015.
She had been a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality in Apple Creek, Missouri. She loved to bird watch, play cards and cook.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters, Terry (Cheryl) Schnurbusch and Donna (Larry) Zoellner, both of Uniontown, Missouri; Bruce (Debbie) Schnurbusch of Jackson and Karen (Mike) Ochs and Keith (Paula) Schnurbusch, both of Perryville; a sister, Marilyn Weisbrod of St. Louis; 14 grandchildren, Julie (Jason) Kirkpatrick, Holly (Sam) Godwin, Ashly (Ed) Richardet, Jared (Renea) Schurbusch, Jenny (Chris) Macke, Jacob (Ally) Schurbusch, Dustin (Krystle) Ochs, Daniel (Amber) Ochs, Derrek Ochs (his special friend, Alyssa Graff), Kaleb Schnurbusch, Kaiti Schnurbusch, Trevor Schnurbusch, Addilyn Schnurbusch and Alexsyn Schnurbusch; and 13 great-grandchildren, Chloe and Nolan Kirkpatrick, Blake and Bella Richardet, Jonah and Jessa Schnurbusch, Sydney and Cole Macke, Dayton Ochs, Jordan Schuessler, Emma Zahner, Jayla Ochs and Kase Ochs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Earl and Leonard Weisbrod; and a great-grandson, Tate Werner.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 a.m. today and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek, with the Rev. Jim French officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery in Apple Creek.
Memorials are preferred to Southeast Hospice, St. Michael Cemetery, St. Vincent Education Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
