EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. Verda Lou Elam Williams, 89, of East Prairie, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born May 30, 1904, in Jerusalem, Ark., daughter of James Richard and Mary Ellen Turner Elam. She married William Edward Williams, April 21, 1929. He died May 14, 1989...

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. Verda Lou Elam Williams, 89, of East Prairie, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born May 30, 1904, in Jerusalem, Ark., daughter of James Richard and Mary Ellen Turner Elam.

She married William Edward Williams, April 21, 1929. He died May 14, 1989.

Williams was a member of the Full Gospel Church of East Prairie.

Survivors include three daughters, Treva Wisdom of Sikeston, Elva Kenedy of East Prairie, Wanda Sawyer of St. Louis; a brother, Arthur Elam of Skitook, Okla.; a sister, Lottie Tackett of Muskogee, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son, four brothers, three sisters and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
