SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Funeral for Verda Ellen Dover of Scott City will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. Terry Eades will officiate. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Dover, 84, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at her home.

She was born Oct. 3, 1916, in Reynoldsville, Ill., daughter of Henry and Sarah Lindsey Meisenheimer. She and Raymond E. Dover were married Aug. 1, 1935, in Jonesboro, Ill. He died Feb. 8, 1995.

Dover farmed with her husband, and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Collin Dover of Dexter, Mo., Gary Dover of Cape Girardeau, Eldon Dover of Scott City; a daughter, Mary Sprenger of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Blanche Mosbey of Jonesboro; 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, four brothers, and six sisters.
