ESSEX -- Vera Verneta Corlew, 75, of Essex died Saturday, July 6, 1996, at her home.
She was born Aug. 30, 1920, in Nimmons, Ark., to Cyrus Edgar and Sylvia Louise Miller Blevins. On May 11, 1940, in Essex, she married Doyle Corlew.
Corlew was a member of the Olive Branch General Baptist Church in Essex and a member of the Women's Missionary Society.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gary and David Corlew, both of Essex; a daughter, Lana Corlew of Essex; four sisters, Fredia Blevins of Bernie, Dorothy Duncan of Bloomfield, Imogene Lape of Parma and Faye Geno of Malden; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Friends may call at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mac Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Triplett Cemetery near Dexter.
