Vera Marie Griffin

Vera Marie Griffin, 85, of Chaffee, Mo., died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Gir­ar­deau.

She was born March 19, 1922 in Oran, Mo., daughter of Joseph and Frieda West­rich Dannenmueller. She married Oscar Griffin Nov. 28, 1951. He died Feb. 22, 1999.

Griffin was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee. She was part of the Daughters of St. Ambrose and the Legion of Mary.

Survivors include three sons, William E. Griffin, Glen Griffin and Joe Griffin, all of Chaffee; two daughters, Marilyn Horman of Chaffee, and Delores Walker of Advance, Mo.; a brother, Harold Dannenmueller of Oran; a sister, Doris Glastetter of Oran; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. today.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee. The Rev. Ralph Duffner will officiate. Burial will be at St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Chaffee.
