COMMERCE, Mo. -- Velma Josephine Walker, 83, of Commerce died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 4, 1921, in Tennessee, daughter of Thomas and Lula Bom Coble. She and Robert Fulton Walker were married Oct. 30, 1939. He died March 4, 1979.
Mrs. Walker had owned and operated Velma's Place in Commerce. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Workman of Scott City; a brother, George Coble of California; two sisters, Lillian Green of Jackson, Helena Reed of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Rex Walker, May 6, 1992; a brother; and a sister.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with John Howells officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery at Morley, Mo.
