BELL CITY -- Velma Bernice Scheible, 70, of Bell City died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998, at her home. She was born Feb. 11, 1928, at Flat River, daughter of John and Goldie Robertson Weston. She and Thurman Eugene Scheible were married in June 1953. He died Feb. 20, 1985...

BELL CITY -- Velma Bernice Scheible, 70, of Bell City died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998, at her home.

She was born Feb. 11, 1928, at Flat River, daughter of John and Goldie Robertson Weston. She and Thurman Eugene Scheible were married in June 1953. He died Feb. 20, 1985.

Scheible had been a machine operator at Oran Hat Factory. She was a member of Bell City General Baptist Church and its Ladies Aid.

Survivors include a son, Billy Scheible of Brighton, Tenn.; two daughters, JoAnn Hargrove of Bell City, Karen Davison of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a stepson, Bud Scheible of Bloomfield; two brothers, Wayne Menees of Malden, Ralph Menees of Florissant; a sister, Arville Brown of Piggott, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a stepdaughter, and a sister.

Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Mike Triplett and Doyle Stogsdill officiating. Burial will be in Malden Cemetery at Malden.
