VELMA O. GREGORY

ADVANCE -- Velma O. Gregory, 85, of Advance died Saturday, Nov. 23, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 23, 1911, in Piney, Ark., the daughter of Joseph and Ella Standridge Shelton. She married Lem Gregory on Jan. 4, 1930, in Lurton, Ark., and he survives.

She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ of Advance.

She is survived by three sons, Neil Gregory, of Lake Geneva, Wis., and Kenneth and Pruitt Gregory, both of Advance; one daughter, Patsy Sue Moore, of Dudley; one brother, Otis Shelton, of Needles, Calif.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, one daughter and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Morgan Funeral Chapel with Billy Davis officiating. Burial will be at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
