ANNA, Ill. --Velma Ruth Parker Menees, 76, of Anna died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at her home east of Anna.
She was born May 21, 1930, in Anna, daughter of Arna and Emma Dunn Parker. She and Walter J. Menees were married Sept. 25, 1947, in Piggott, Ark.
Menees was a member of First Christian Church in Anna and had volunteered for Hospice of Southern Illinois for the last several years.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Menees of Anna; a daughter, Deanna Romeo of Beaver, Pa.; a son, Terry Menees of Apache Junction, Ariz.; a brother, Arnold Parker of Anna; two sisters, Moneda Karraker of Bradenton, Fla., and Irene Lingle of Anna; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with chaplain Mary Wyatt and Dee Armes officiating. Interment will be in Anna Cemetery.
