CAIRO, Ill. -- Velma M. Gray, 72, of Granite City, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 1995, at her home.
She was born May 18, 1923, in Cairo, daughter of Harry and Mamie Ross Bauer. She and Elmer E. Gray were married April 28, 1946, in Cairo.
Gray retired as a contract specialist with the federal government. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, St. Theresa Circle of Daughters of Isabella, and VFW Auxiliary, all in Cairo.
Survivors include her husband, and a brother, Donald Bauer of Granite City.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. Friday.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church, with the Rev. Jerome Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in Wickliffe City Cemetery at Wickliffe, Ky.
