VELMA LYERLA

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Velma Lyerla, 46, of Jonesboro died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at her home.

She was born May 16, 1954, in Anna, Ill., daughter of Sam and Ella Mae Dirden Brimm. She and Joe Lyerla were married Sept. 26, 1970, at McClure, Ill.

Lyerla was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Clarissa Poole of Carterville, Ill., Carla Swink of Marion, Ill.; a son, Joseph Lyerla of Jonesboro; her mother, Ella Duschl of Anna, Ill.; two brothers, Ricky Brimm of Anna, Sam Brimm of Ware, Ill.; a sister, Mary Brimm of Florida; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and a daughter.

Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Hertenstein officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
