DONGOLA -- Velma Forcht Houston, 78, of Dongola, died Wednesday, July 1, 1992 at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 19, 1913 in Menlo, Iowa, daughter of Harvey and Katie Plymesser Cline.
She married Virgil Charles Forcht on Dec. 3, 1929. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1957. She married Claude Houston on July 4, 1959. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1978.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dongola.
Survivors are one daughter, Shirley Parker of Battle Creek, Mich.; two sons, Jerry Forcht of Cypress and Rex Forcht of Dongola; two step-sons, Charles Houston and Larry Houston, both of Dongola; two step-daughters, Iva Jo Hill of Jonesboro and Rita Dillow of Dongola; four brothers, Willis Cline and Leroy Cline, both of Menlo, Iowa, Howard Cline of Newport Beach, Vir. and Wesley Cline of Walker, Minn.; nine grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one step great grandchild.
One brother and one sister also preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday at the Crain Funeral Home in Dongola. Funeral service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jay Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in the American Legion Cemetery in Dongola.
