PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Velma A. (Dobbelare) Dickmann Drury, 82, of Perryville, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at her residence in Perryville.
She was born April 11, 1936, in Belgique, Missouri, daughter of Hubert and Pauline (DePauw) Dobbelare. She and Rayford "Ray" Dickmann were married on June 19, 1954. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1966. She and Harlie Drury were married on July 14, 1984. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1987.
Velma was a waitress at the Grandview, cleaned houses for people for 36 years and was a homemaker. She loved to travel, go dancing, play cards, loved the grandchildren and had a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter, Randy Dickmann of Perryville, Bonnie Behrle and friend, Mike Strayer, of LaGrange, Indiana, and Robert "Bob" (Lorie) Dickmann of Perryville;a stepdaughter, Sheila (Mike) Miller of Perryville; two grandchildren, Raymond "Ray" Scott of Denver, Colorado, and LaTeaschia (Josh) Lewis of Olathe, Kansas; three stepgrandchildren, Jason Miller and friend, Lauren Ochs; Jeff (Cheryl) Miller of Perryville, and Jennifer (Matt) Wilke of Friedheim; a great-grandchild, Aidan Lewis, and another great-grandchild on the way; four great-stepgrandchildren, Austin Miller, Ella Miller, Kensley Wilke and Addisyn Wilke; and two sisters-in-law, Anna Dean Voges of Jackson and Marilyn Dobbelare Taber of Perryville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Susan Dickmann; a sister, Dorothy Hilderbrand; two brothers Glennon and Joseph Dobbelare, and an infant brother, Delmar.
Visitation will be held at Young and Sons Funeral Home on Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m., with rosary at 8:15 a.m. She will then be taken to St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville for Mass at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Rich Wehrmeyer, C.M., officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to St. Vincent de Paul Parish or St. Vincent de Paul Schools.
