Vella Ford

Vella Ann Ford, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Ratliff Care Center.

She was born Jan. 12, 1928, in Cape Girardeau to Lou and Grace Fitzpatrick Kraust. She and Amos Alfred Ford were married July 1, 1946, at Cape Girardeau.

She was an avid seamstress for charity, loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her three sons, Jeff, Steve and Mike Ford, all of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Jewel Froemsdorf of Jackson and Doris Nance of O'Fallon, Missouri; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death her parents, husband, a brother, two sisters and a son, Timothy Ford.

Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Long officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
