VELDA METCALF

BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral service for Velda Fay Metcalf of Bloomfield will be held at 2 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home. The Rev. Kevin Eskew will officiate, with burial in Gravel Hill Cemetery.

Metcalf, 59, died Wednesday, April 9, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Sept. 27, 1937, at Bloomfield, daughter of Johnie and Mary Osburn Pruett. She and J.D. Metcalf were married July 24, 1954.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Donald Metcalf of Bloomfield; two daughters, Deborah Metcalf and Glenda Johnson of Bloomfield; four brothers, Edsel and Loren Pruett of Bloomfield, Carmen Pruett of Kenton, Tenn., Cletus Pruett of Dexter; three sisters, Clodina Mann of Jackson, Freeda Waggoner and Lora Cox of Dexter; and a granddaughter.
