JACKSON, Mo. -- Veda Jewell Skinner, 73, of Jackson died Friday, June 16, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 15, 1927, at Patton, daughter of John F. and Nola Elizabeth Reagan Brotherton. She and Ray Skinner were married Dec. 3, 1946, in Jackson.
Skinner had been a beautician in the Jackson area a number of years. She later worked at the former Ralph Edwards Sportswear in Cape Girardeau and Kroger Egg Plant in Jackson.
She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church and Roberts Homemakers Club.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Rick Skinner of Jackson; a daughter, Sharon Powers of Sikeston; three brothers, Kelly Brotherton of Patton, Lee and Gus Brotherton of Jackson; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Rice officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
