Vaughneda Dennis

Vaughneda Dennis, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at her home.

She was born Dec. 22, 1929, in Piggott, Ark., daughter of Fred William and Bertha Ellen Holifield Brandt. She and Arthur F. Dennis were married May 26, 1948, at Malden, Mo.

Dennis was a member of First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau and also did volunteer work.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen Jones of Cape Girardeau, Sherilyn Elmo of Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, Jimmy Brandt of state of Illinois; three sisters, Bonnie Crawford of Benton, Mo., Thelma Shetler of Florissant, Mo., Oleda Cloud of Malden; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A graveside committal service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Malden Memorial Park, with the Rev. Sam Ramdial officiating.
