JACKSON -- Vanita L. Spooler, 83, of Jackson died Saturday, May 27, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born April 28, 1917, at Tilsit, daughter of Alvin and Amanda Lange Birk. She and Elmer H. Spooler were married June 13, 1953.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Jackson.
Survivors include her husband of Jackson; a son, Donald Spooler of Jackson; a daughter, Beverly Kinder of Jackson; three brothers, Gerhard and Alfred Birk of Jackson and Nelson Birk of Fredericktown; four sisters, Hulda Sievers, Alma Mouser and Vera Allen of Jackson and Laura Nagel of Cape Girardeau; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home at Jackson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Jackson, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
