Vanita Lee Crites, 54, of Jackson died Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at her home, surrounded by family.
She was born July 14, 1964, in Cape Girardeau to Earl Herman Crites Jr. and Naomi Lee Crites.
She attended Jackson High School. She received an associate degree from Southeast Missouri State University.
Survivors include her daughter, Stevie Cortez of Jackson; two sons, Elijah (Lisa) Cortez and Austin Cortez, both of Jackson; a brother; four sisters; seven grandchildren, Malorie, Brooklyn, Madden, Macee and Manning Cortez and Nevaeh and Cash Lucious; niece, Audrey (James) Kennedy and sons from Patton, Missouri; and a cousin, Geri Reid of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Jason Shaw officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
