ZALMA, Mo. -- Vanessa Ann Pikey, 63, of Zalma passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 1, 1955, at St. Louis, the daughter of Bennie and Glenda Pauline Watkins Kassinger. Vanessa and Ruben F. Pikey were united in marriage April 8, 1976, at Gordonville, and he survives of the home.
Vanessa had been a supervisor at the Marion Eye Center. She liked to shop, take care of her husband and spend time with her grandchildren. She was known for being very personable.
Survivors include her husband, Ruben Pikey; her mother, Glenda Pauline Kassinger of Zalma; two daughters, Marsha Dobbs of Dyersburg, Tennessee, and Dawn Bennett of Villa Ridge, Missouri; two brothers, Curt Kassinger of Jackson and the Rev. Kent Kassinger of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; a sister, Shirley Simmers of Sturdivant, Missouri; and five grandchildren, Zachary Dobbs, Evan Dobbs, Austin Borgman, Justin Borgman and Jaxon Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Trinda Kassinger.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethel General Baptist Church near Advance, Missouri.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, with the Revs. Kent Kassinger and Mike Kohlbaker officiating.
