Valerie Davis, 58, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 16, 1958, in Dayton, Ohio, to Lee Joseph and Leola Mack Twiggs. She and Sammy Davis Sr. were married March 15, 1980, at Cape Girardeau.

Valerie was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

She worked for Florsheim Shoe factory until it closed. Prior to that, she was employed by Magna-Tel Inc.

Valerie was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Sammy Davis Sr.; her father, Lee Joseph Twiggs of Jefferson City, Missouri; her mother, Leola Mack Twiggs of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Sammy Davis Jr. and Kerry Davis, both of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Keisha McReynolds, Cynthia Davis and Malaka Davis, all of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Vincent Twiggs of Cape Girardeau and Donnie Twiggs of Phoenix; four sisters, Deborah Twiggs, Christy Twiggs, Pamela Robinson and Robin Twiggs, all of Cape Girardeau; and 16 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Brown.

Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Revs. Vincent Twiggs and Joseph Cotton Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Ford and Sons Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
