PERRYVILLE -- Valentine Joseph "Val" Taylor, 79, of Perryville, died Wednesday, May 10, 1995, at his home.
He was born March 16, 1916, at Perryville, son of Arthur and Floy Tucker Taylor. He married Doris M. Kelley.
Taylor was district manager of Singer Sewing Machine Co. 25 years. He had owned and operated Taylor Fabric House, and was a former owner of VJ Convenience Store and NAPA Auto Parts. He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church and American Legion Post 133. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard Taylor of Redding, Calif., Rodney Taylor of Davie, Fla., Chuck Taylor of Perryville; two daughters, Wanda Taylor of Redding, Melissa Elder of Perryville; two brothers, Kenneth Taylor of Sun City, Calif., Russell Taylor of St. Louis; a sister, Mary Murphy of St. Louis, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today, and Friday from 6:30-9:45 a.m. The parish wake will be at 7 tonight.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
