PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Vada May (Morse) Cox, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, at Independence Care Center in Perryville.
She was born Dec. 27, 1942, in Perryville to Willard and Beulah Tucker Wilson.
She first married Samuel Andrew Morse. He passed away in 1980. She later married Donald Cox Sr. on Sept. 16, 1989, at Jackson. He preceded her in death Sept. 20, 2009.
She attended First Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include daughters, Lisa Weiler of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, and Vickie Wethrill of Libby, Montana; stepdaughters, Dana (Steve) Abel of Fruitland, Diane (Paul Jr.) Kohm of Perryville, Denise (Ricky) Bohnert of Perryville, Dawn (Ronnie) Stewart of Columbia, Tennessee, and Darla Cox of Jackson; a stepson, Donald Cox Jr. of Cape Girardeau; sisters, Kathy Schliefer and Connie Carver of Sparta, Illinois; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her favorite dog, Frisky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sons, Andy and Alonzo Morse; stepson, Dwayne Cox; brothers, Gary, Danny and David Ervin; grandchildren, Ryan and C.J.; and great-grandchild, London.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darrell E. Faire Sr. and the Revs. Robert and Judy Bentley officiating.
Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
