CHARLESTON -- Vada Ann Brownfield, 80, of the Bertrand Retirement Facility, formerly of Charleston, died Saturday, March 20, 1993, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born March 30, 1912 in Jackson County, Ark., daughter of James W. and Tennie Mathis Sims.
She had lived in Mississippi County most of her life where she was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston.
On Sept. 28, 1935, she married Grover David Brownfield, who survives of the Bertrand Retirement Facility.
Other survivors include one son, Gordon Brownfield of Sikeston; two daughters, Beatrice Pierce of Fairfield, Ill., and Virginia Brack of Sikeston; two brothers, Oather Sims of Dexter and Noil Sims of O'Fallon; two sisters, Margie Cook of Memphis, Tenn., and Lucy McManners of Jonesboro, Ark.; and one grandson, Barry Brownfield of Sikeston.
Four brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Howard Welches, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in Charleston, and the Rev. Gerald Penn, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston, officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
