Truman N. Young, 83, of DeSoto died Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital in DeSoto.
He was born Aug. 2, 1914, in Cape Girardeau, son of Gilbert and Sadie Ervin Young. He and Edith Hoener were married Aug. 2, 1943, at St. Charles.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tom Young of Jackson, Raymond Young of Manchester, Tenn.; a daughter, Phyllis Lukefahr of Cape Girardeau; a sister, LouAnna Wilson of DeSoto; a stepbrother, Bob Stroder of DeSoto; a stepsister, Betty Kluttz of Augusta, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Virgil Kelm and Floyd Spree officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
