UNIONTOWN -- Wiltrudis M. "Trudy" Kohlfeld, 69, of Murphysboro, Ill., died Wednesday, July 17, 1996, at Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro.
She was born Dec. 3, 1926, at Uniontown, daughter of Leo and Gertrude Unterreiner Balsman. She and Wallace "Wally" Kohlfeld were married July 30, 1946, at Apple Creek.
Kohlfeld had worked at the former Daniel Grocery and Rechter's Stores in Murphysboro. She was a member of St. Andrew Church in Murphysboro, its Altar Society and Quilters, St. Joseph Hospital, and Jackson County Extension Club.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Lawrence "Larry" Kohlfeld of Apple Creek, James Kohlfeld of St. Louis; two daughters, Joyce Cottonaro of Murphysboro, Sharon Trout of Evansville, Ind.; her mother of Uniontown; two brothers, Edgar Balsman of Uniontown, Leo Balsman Jr. of Apple Creek; two sisters, Anne Ernst of Perryville, Jean Buerck of Altenburg; 11 grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Friends may call at Pettett Funeral Home in Murphysboro from 5-9 p.m. today, and Saturday until 9:30 a.m. The rosary will be at 8 p.m. tonight.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Church, with the Rev. James Buerster officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery.
