Troy Richard Willard, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 19, 1930, in Campbell, Missouri, the son of Lawrence Abel and Mary Magdalene (Dover) Willard. He married Rosena Windeknecht on Dec. 31, 1984.

Troy proudly served in the United States Army. He also had worked throughout his life at Bee-Cee Manufacturing and Wal-Mart.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Troy was a member of Cape First and American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Rosena L. Willard of Cape Girardeau; brothers, Wesley (Jennie) Willard of Cape Girardeau, Bob (Arbeline) Willard of Campbell and Dennis Willard of Campbell; sister, Geraldine (Bill) Todd of Cape Girardeau; Rosena's children, Rachel (Rock) Finch of Cape Girardeau, Rebekah (James) Green of Georgetown, California, Sarah (James) Goss of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Daniel (Joan) Windeknecht of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Troy is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alva Willard, Dean Willard and Coy Willard; and sisters, Wilma Todd and Mary Lou Brooks.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, with Charles Lance officiating.

Interment with military honors will follow at 1 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
