Troy Harlin Estes Jr., 74, of Yuma, Ariz., died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009.
Formerly of Scott City, he was born July 7, 1935, in Matthews, Mo., son of Troy Harlin and Esther Marcella Cowgur Estes Sr. He married JoAnn Skinner in 1953, and later married Ruby Hawkins.
He had been an engineer with Cotton Belt Railroad.
He is survived by his children, Nancy (Eddie) Cook of Yuma, Jill (Jim) Pinkston of Benton, Mo., Penny Ressel, Clint (Christine) Estes, Marcie (Jeff) Lynn, all of Scott City, Troy Harlin Estes III of Morley, Mo.; a sister, Mary Elizabeth (J.C.) McNelly of Cape Girardeau; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Charmaine Estes in 1969, and an infant grandson, Zachary Robert Cook in 1984.
A memorial open house will be held Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the home of Jim and Jill Pinkston, 26431 Highway 61 in Benton.
