Trey Parsons

DEXTER, Mo. -- C.H. "Trey" Parsons III, 47, of Dexter departed this life Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014.

He was born May 3, 1967, in Cape Girardeau, oldest son of C.H. and Betty Sue Parsons Jr. He and Kathryn Elizabeth Matthes were married Dec. 29, 1994.

Trey graduated from Dexter High School in 1985. He received a football scholarship from the University of Missouri, where he attended until he sustained a career-ending injury. He graduated from Arkansas State University in 1994 with a bachelor of science degree.

Survivors include his wife, Kate; and son, John Rhys Parsons of Dexter; his parents, C.H. and Betty Parsons Jr. of Dexter; a brother, Rafe B. Parsons and wife Colleen; a niece, Grace Parsons, all of Columbia, Missouri; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dexter Cemetery, with Dr. Barry Winders officiating.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of arrangements.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to 18 Fore Life and Dexter Public Library.
