Toshiye K. Suzuki, 95, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, at the Lutehran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Jan. 7, 1912, in San Gabriel, Calif., the daughter of Seiichi and Suye Kobayashi. She and Yoshimichi Jafe "Y.J." Suzuki were married on Dec. 16, 1933, in Norwalk, Calif. He proceeded her in death on May 1, 1979...

Toshiye K. Suzuki, 95, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, at the Lutehran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 7, 1912, in San Gabriel, Calif., the daughter of Seiichi and Suye Kobayashi. She and Yoshimichi Jafe "Y.J." Suzuki were married on Dec. 16, 1933, in Norwalk, Calif. He proceeded her in death on May 1, 1979.

Suzuki was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau. She was also a member of Mary Martha Circle at the church, the rose display garden and the floodwall garden at the river.

Survivors include three sons, Arthur Suzuki and wife, Naomi, of Granite City, Ill., Mac Suzuki and wife, Rosina, of Lahina, Hawaii, and Pat Suzuki and wife, Paula, of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Nina Fisher of Ashville, N.C., Jane Maroon and husband, William, of Dover, Del., and Kay Nicholson and husband, Don, of Venice, Fla.; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Greg Heinsman officiating. Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may be made to Evangelical United Church of Christ building fund or Cape Girardeau County Cowboy Church building fund.
