PERRYVILLE -- Marion A. "Tony" Zoellner, 89, of Perryville died Monday, May 22, 2000, at Perry County Nursing Home. He was born Feb. 19, 1911, at Perryville, son of August B. and Amelia Buerck Zoellner. He and Mary Ann Van Doren were married June 10, 1931...

PERRYVILLE -- Marion A. "Tony" Zoellner, 89, of Perryville died Monday, May 22, 2000, at Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born Feb. 19, 1911, at Perryville, son of August B. and Amelia Buerck Zoellner. He and Mary Ann Van Doren were married June 10, 1931.

Zoellner had been a self-employed real estate and insurance agent. He had also been a Perry County juvenile officer.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, was a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus, and was a past Boy Scoutmaster.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Marilyn Flentge, Mary Ann Clifton and Carol Lappe of Perryville, Nancy Janet of Cape Girardeau; two sons, James Zoellner of British Columbia, Canada, and Gerald Zoellner of Perryville.

Also surviving are four sisters, Euline Van Doren, Ruth Versheldon and Doris Kiefer of Perryville, Virginia Van Doren of Webster Groves; 33 grandchildren; 85 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and Wednesday from 6:30-10:10 a.m. The parish and Knights of Columbus wake will be at 7 tonight.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent's Church. The Rev. Rich Lause will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
