ORAN, Mo. -- Tony J. Scheeter, 60, of Oran died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 24, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, son of Raymond John and Martha Clara Glueck Scheeter. He and Becki Dalton were married June 25, 1994.
Scheeter had been a forklift operator at SuperValu in Scott City, a truck driver, and a substitute rural mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service at Benton, Cape Girardeau and Oran.
He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, St. Joseph Sodality and Local Union 574 in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Alden Scheeter of Sikeston, Mo., John Scheeter of Oran; a daughter, Holly Pound of Benton; a stepson, Brian Dalton of Chaffee, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Christi Stevens of Chaffee; two brothers, Pete Scheeter of Garden City, Kan., Kent Scheeter of Oran; a sister, Kay Urhahn of Oran; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 6, followed by a prayer service at 6:30.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Guardian Angel Church, with the Rev. Normand Varone and Marty Blakey officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
