JACKSON -- Tony L. Butler, 80, of Jackson, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1992, at his home.
He was born March 3, 1912, near Neelys Landing, son of the Rev. William and Martha Butler. He and Marie Gibson were married Oct. 23, 1937, at Benton.
Butler worked at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. a number of years, was sexton with city of Jackson 12 years, and worked eight years at Cracraft-Miller before retiring.
The family moved to Jackson in 1950 from Sikeston. He was a member of First Baptist Church and its Adult Men's Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David Butler of Arnold; two daughters, Barbara Hurst and Toni Langston of Jackson; five sisters, Oma Williams of San Bernardino, Calif., Noretta Irvin of St. Charles, Geneva Moore and Lorene Denfib of Hartford, Ill., Ruby Eddleman of St. Louis; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rodney Travis officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
