ANNA, Ill. -- Tony Kristoff Jr., 90, of Anna died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna.

He was born Aug. 17, 1918, in Red Jacket, Mich., son of Anthony and Anna Maynarick Kristoff. He and Sophia Frances "Flo" Rimkus were married Aug. 17, 1940. She died July 18, 1998.

Kristoff lived in Southern Illinois for nearly 70 years. He retired from Southern Illinois University, where he worked as a carpenter in the maintenance department for nearly 23 years. After retirement he enjoyed working on his farm.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Kristoff of Anna, Eugene Kristoff of Vergennes, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Judy Brewer of Blanco, Texas; a brother, Robert Kristoff of Cobden; three sisters, Kay Tucker of LaMirarda, Calif., Bertha Riddle of Carterville, Ill., Marie Stockton of Joliet, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, four brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. The funeral will be at noon Tuesday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Zion Cemetery near Carbondale, Ill.
