SCOTT CITY -- Funeral service for Tony Ray Beckett of Scott City was held Monday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Terry Eades officiated, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Beckett, 31, died Thursday, April 17, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 8, 1965, in Cape Girardeau, son of Leonard L. and Donna Marie Rhodes Beckett.

Beckett was a 1983 graduate of United Township High School in East Moline, Ill. He had worked at Havco Wood Products since 1994. He also had worked at Transcrafter in Anna, Ill.; Wetterau Foods; and SEMO Carpet Cleaners.

Survivors include his fiancee, Denise Reisenbichler of Scott City; his father of Scott City; two brothers, Leonard Beckett Jr. of East Moline, John Beckett of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Donna Beckett of Scott City, Patricia Mier of Jackson, Kathryn Saddler of San Antonio; and maternal grandmother, Flora Rhodes of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister.
