CARTERVILLE, Ill. -- Toney Levill, 83, of Carterville, formerly of Cairo, Ill., died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at his home.
He was born Dec. 29, 1916, in Alexander County, son of Allen and Sarah Hargis Levill.
He worked for many years as a car salesman at Riverside Chevrolet in Cairo.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a charter member of the Cairo VFW Post No. 2649 and was a past master of the Cairo Masonic Lodge No. 237 A.F. and A.M.
Survivors include his wife, Dollie Levill of Carterville; a son, Dennie Levill of Cairo; two daughters, Sandra McCamish of Carterville and Carolyn Ponting of Cairo; two sisters, Delores Cross of Delray Beach, Fla., and Aldene Cornett of Valparaiso, Ind.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 10-11 a.m. Monday.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carl H. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
