EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Tommy Evans of East Prairie will be held at 11 a.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie, with Richard Farquhar officiating. Burial will be in Houston, Texas.
Evans, 52, died Wednesday, May 10, 1995, at University Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Jan. 13, 1943, in Houston, son of Alton H. and Billie S. Walston Evans. He and Linna Wray were married March 4, 1995.
Evans moved here several years ago from Houston. He formerly owned and operated Tommy's Sinclair Service Station here.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Curtis Evans of New Caney, Texas, Ross Holcomb of East Prairie; six daughters, Tammy Kratz and Carol Bunch of Houston, Nancy McCleskey and Janet Johnson of New Caney, Angela Evans of Conroe, Texas, Theresa Shands of East Prairie; his mother, Billie Wells of New Caney; five brothers, Billy, Ronald, Robbie and James Evans of Houston, Roy Evans of New Caney; a sister, Edrey Tiller of Porter, Texas, and 13 grandchildren.
