Louie "Tommy" Cox of Kelso, Missouri, formerly of Commerce, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 7, 1938, in East Prairie, Missouri to Roy and Jessie Organ Cox. He and Joyce Geraldine Parker married Feb. 10, 1967.
He was a construction worker and was a member of Commerce Baptist Church in Commerce. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; three sons, Tommy Cox Jr. of Mound City, Missouri, Jim (Cindy) Cox of Oregon, Missouri, and Ricky Clay of Commerce; three daughters, Tonya Meuir of Piggott, Arkansas, Sandra (Tyler) Oleksy of O'Fallon, Missouri, and Sondra (Brian) Archer of Gilbert, Arizona; a brother, Adon Cox of Charleston, Missouri; two sisters, Nancy Kindle of Morehouse, Missouri, and Libby Stracener of Charleston; 20 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dan Stevens officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce.
