ST. LOUIS -- Tommie Dean Pepper, 57, of St. Louis and formerly of Mississippi County, died Sunday, May 21, 1995, at the Incarnate Word Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Aug. 7, 1937, in East Prairie, the son of Clarence "Dutch" and Bessie B. Byassee Pepper. He married Betty Hill on Dec. 8, 1962.
Pepper was employed with the B&M Machine Co. in St. Louis until his retirement in 1982.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Tommy D. Pepper Jr. of Arnold; a daughter, Melissa Harris of St. Louis; a stepson, Danny Long of Las Vegas; a stepdaughter, Debbie Robinson of Phoenix; a brother, Sidney Pepper of St. Louis; two sisters, Helen Brown of St. Louis and Murlene Riley of Salem; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Cline Ables will officiate, and burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
