SIKESTON -- Tommie M. Hawkins, 61, of Sikeston died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, of an apparent heart attack.
He was born Oct. 4, 1937, at Fort Worth, Texas, son of Emmitt and Myrtle Hawkins.
He was employed as a truck driver for James Charles Trucking of McClure, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie M. Hawkins of Sikeston; five sons, Michael, Tressell and Tommie Hawkins Jr., all of Dallas, Texas, Freddie Alarcon of El Paso, Texas, and Sammy Arebalo of Wellington, Kan.; four daughters, Terri Hawkins of Dallas, Veronica Alarcon of El Paso, and Lucy and Lisa Arebalo, both of Wellington; two sisters, Betty Ryder and Beverly Hawkins, both of Dallas; a half sister, Mary Etta Thompson of Chicago; and 12 grandchildren.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the Williams-Farr & Purnell Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The Rev. Kevin Coleman will officiate. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
