BLOOMFIELD -- Tom M. Bishop, 73, of Bloomfield died Saturday, Nov. 30, 1996, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Poplar Bluff.

He was born Sept. 20, 1923, in Washington County, Ky., the son of Hubert and Mattie Young Bishop. He married Wanda James on April 26, 1975, in Malden.

Bishop was a retired assistant manager of a grocery store in Dexter. He was of the Baptist faith. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Johnny Bishop of Louisville; one daughter, Marsha Ann Vest of Arkansas; two stepdaughters, Donna Tidwell and Sherry Limbaugh of Advance; six brothers, Jack Bishop, Elbert Bishop, Reco Bishop, Tex Bishop, Gerald Bishop and Thomas Bishop, all of Springfield, Ky.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Friends may call from 5:30-8 p.m. today at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Earl Reinhart and the Rev. Arvil Croy officiating. Burial will follow in the Rick Point Cemetery near Advance.
