CHAFFEE -- Tom Gross Jr., 72, of Chaffee died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 16, 1926, at Blodgett, son of Tom Henry and Cecila Marie Myers Gross.
Gross was a retired self-employed tree trimmer. He was a deep sea diver in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include a son, Tom "Bubby" Gross of Little Rock, Ark.; six daughters, Shannon Reeves of Hicksville, N.Y., Shamela Fluegge and Nikki Gross of Chaffee, Stellina Rice, Brenda Cahill and Sylina Gross of Little Rock, and his father of Morley.
Also surviving are four brothers, George Gross of Sikeston, Steve Gross of Morley, Roy Gross of Blodgett, Don Gross of Kansas City; five sisters, Vickie Wallace of Granite City, Ill., Grace Stovall of Morley, Jane Graff of St. Louis, Betty Holland of Vanduser, Reba Somers of Poplar Bluff; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, with the Rev. Joe Payne officiating. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery at Perkins.
Friends may call at the chapel Thursday from 9 a.m. until service time.
