TOLA SCHUMER

PERRYVILLE -- Tola Marie Schumer, 87, of Perryville died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 1, 1910, in Perry County, daughter of Felix and Judy Pearson Zahner. She and Leo T. Schumer were married May 8, 1928, in Perryville. He died Aug. 23, 1982.

Schumer was a housekeeper at St. Mary's Seminary 25 years. She was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Ladies of Charity, and Western Catholic Union.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Baechle of Ballwin; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

There is no visitation.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Gerard P. Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
