Todd E. Sides, 26, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Todd was born March 22, 1980, in Cape Girardeau, son of Terry L. and Cheryl Penny Sides.
He was a 1998 graduate of Jackson High School, and had been employed at the T. Wayne Lewis Family Dentistry in Jackson since his graduation.
Todd was an avid Cardinals and Jackson Indians fan. He was a collector of baseball cards, hats and knives, and enjoyed country music. Above all, he loved to camp at Arrowhead on Castor River.
The surviving family includes his parents; a brother, Ryan Sides; maternal grandmother, Pat Brooks, all of Jackson; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Also remembering Todd is Dr. T. Wayne Lewis and staff; Todd's school aides, Anna Dean Statler and Donna Rushing; his transit drivers, Carl Green and Dennis Roth; and many other friends and caregivers too numerous to mention.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles "Junior" and Louise Sides; and maternal step-grandfather, Don Brooks.
Friends may call today from 3:30 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Apple Creek Cemetery at Pocahontas.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Penny, Roger Aufdenberg, Bradley Smith, David Sweeney, Jeff Walters and Rick Brunke. Honorary pallbearers are Shane Sinn and John Aufdenberg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
