CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Funeral service for Thurman Lee Shelton, 1431 rear N. Spanish, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Wes Rider will officiate, with burial in City Cemetery at Poplar Bluff.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Shelton, 80 years old, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 1991, at Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.
He was born Sept. 15, 1910, at Doniphan, son of Thomas A. and Shara Hackworth Shelton. He and the former Hazel E. Goodwin were married Dec. 25, 1935, at Harviell.
Shelton was a self-employed timber worker.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thurman Shelton Jr. of Jackson, Bill Thurman of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Leona Johnson of Cape; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
