MILLERSVILLE -- Thomas Emerson Statler, 97, of Millersville died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, at his home.

He was born Nov. 14, 1901, north of Sedgewickville, son of Albert Ross and Sarah Caroline Bowman Statler. He and Mary Hallie Keller were married Sept. 16, 1924, in Chester, Ill.

Statler worked at Marquette Cement Co. in Cape Girardeau 15 years, retiring in 1954. He also farmed in the Millersville area. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Ella Hinkle of Marquand, Wilma Flowers of Millersville, Viola Ruch of Jackson; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, four brothers, three sisters and a grandchild.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. The Rev. Walter Fehrmann will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
