KELSO, Mo. -- Thomas Leonard Smith, 77, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Kelso, died Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at Blake Hospital in Sarasota, Fla.
He was born Nov. 23, 1926, in Reedy, W.Va., son of Park and Georgie Hicks Smith. He and Grace Marie Arndt were married June 19, 1953. She died March 19, 1993. He and Joan Trafford were married Oct. 28, 1995.
Smith was a cattle buyer. He was a member of a Masonic Lodge in West Virginia.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Susan Pape of St. Charles, Mo., Sandy McCarthy of Kansas City, Mo.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with Tommy Miller officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
